So, my mom got this recipe from a friend when I was little. It has always been a family favorite. When I was young, somehow I nicknamed it “golf ball bread” and we’ve been calling it that ever since. 🙂 The bread does freeze well after it is baked, but there is never any left to freeze at our house. Perhaps, I should make 2 or 3 loaves at once and freeze the extras! Ha!
(Garlic Bubble Bread)
1 loaf frozen white bread dough
1/4 cup margarine, melted
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp dried parsley flakes
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
-Thaw dough and bring to room temperature.
-Mix together the melted margarine, egg, parsley flakes, salt, and garlic powder.
-Cut off pieces of dough about the size of a walnut. Dip into butter/egg mixture and place the pieces of dough into a well-greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise until doubled in size.
-Bake for 30 minutes at 375F. Cool in pan on wire rack about 10-15 minutes. (But we like to eat it hot out of the oven…just be careful, lots of steam escapes when you tear off a piece.) No need to slice, just tear off a big piece and enjoy!
